A Letter to the Church of Club Zion in Cocoa Beach
Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. I am greatly honored and deeply privileged to be called by God anointed by the Holy Spirit and equipped to be your Shepard. I find it necessary beyond measure to use the full counsel of God’s word and the power of the Holy Spirit to build up this local congregation that God has birthed here in Cocoa Beach to effectively bring the gospel to our community. As your pastor I do not take this responsibility lightly. I pray without ceasing for our cause and purpose for God’s will in all we do.
The Lord has strategically placed us in our community as a beacon of hope, vision, and salvation for all who are searching. We are that city on a hill that cannot be hidden. We are that anchor of refuge for the drifting souls and the guiding light to those who have been blinded by societies absurdities. However, we are not called to criticize but to guide and lead the way to a life of peace, tranquility and rest in our precious Lord Jesus Christ. All the work that God has called us to in Brevard County cannot be accomplished by just our Pastors or Deacons; it is the whole church that God calls. On a regular basis, I witness firsthand the tremendous work that this body of Christ achieves through the power of the Holy Spirit. As a pastor the feeling of joy cannot be expressed in words. I can only compare it to a mother and father at their child’s graduation. You are the dear children of God and his workmen; you are the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are called to finish the work Jesus began. This is no time for us to slow down or take a break! This is no time for apathy, complacency, or slumber. The church can no longer afford to be asleep in the light. We must rise up and face this new year with full expectancy that God is doing a new thing and wants to use us to accomplish it. I challenge you and implore you to seek the Lord as to where and how he is going to use you in implementing his new and glorious plan for Brevard County.
Through the power of God, we have accomplished many effective, life changing missions in 2018. Our Surf Camp of 300 teenagers brought the highest number of decisions to surrender to Christ than any other previous year. At best count 165 teenagers dedicated their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ to receive salvation. Our Easter sunrise service was so moving and so effective that I still hear from the community of how it touched their lives. Our Christmas Eve Candlelight service was truly anointed; There was a moving of the Holy Spirit that was evident to all. Our Christmas Parade float won First Place and looked incredible. It was our first year we had an exhibition tent set up at Winterfest. Our live Nativity turnout was tremendous as well as the generosity to help the less fortunate with the Angel Tree. The Children’s Church began using the AWANA program this year which has grown our attendance. It would take me all year to highlight all that we have accomplished in 2018 so I will leave it at that.
Please be encouraged to note that we are starting the Book of Nehemiah on Tuesday nights.
1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefor, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Sincerely with Great Love.
Your Pastor Keith and Debbie Capizzi
